Robert Picker 1948-2025

Robert “Bob” William Picker, 77,  Belle, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025.

He was born  April 2, 1948, to the late Theodore “Tade” and Wilma (Robertson) Picker in a farmhouse in Maries County.

He was a lifelong area resident and a 1966 graduate of Belle High School.

Bob had been employed at Belle Business Forms in Belle for over 20 years. 

He was united in marriage to Cathy Marie Heady Sept. 22, 1967, at the First Baptist Church in Belle. Cathy preceded him in death Sept. 14, 2022.

Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing, keeping his yard landscaped, and older country music. He liked watching John Wayne movies, Gunsmoke on a daily basis, and Clint Eastwood movies. Bob loved coaching his sons in baseball when they were young and now going and watching his grandchildren play sports.

He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed dining out at local cafes, harassing the help and anyone else along the way. Above all, Bob loved his time spent with his family. He will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved him.

Bob was preceded in death by wife, Cathy; parents, Theodore and Wilma; and brother-in-law, Lanny Steinkamp.

He is survived by sons, Mike Picker of Belle, Chad Picker and wife Kristin of Rolla and James and wife Oukham of Olathe, Kan.; grandchildren, Meghan, Emma, Matt and Meredith; sister, Alma Marie Steinkamp of Belle; and brother-in-law, Kevin Heady.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 9, at the First Christian Church in Belle. Interment was in the Pilot Knob Cemetery.

Memorial contributions suggested to the Maries County R-2 Schools Community Care fund in Cathy’s and Bob’s name.  The school will accept cash or a check written to “Maries County R-2 Schools” and have “lunch donation” written on the memo line.  The funds are used to help feed local students.
