Richard Edward Lewis, 62, Dixon, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025.
He was born March 14, 1963, to the late James Edward and Doris (Anders) Lewis in Springfield, Ill.
He served his country in the U.S. Army retiring with an Honorable Discharge in 1994.
He was united in marriage to Rita L. Dains Aug. 22, 1981, in Waterloo, Ill.
Richard worked as a mechanic at Sellers-Sexton Mitsubishi in Rolla.
He was preceded in death by parents, James and Doris.
Richard is survived by wife, Rita of the home in Dixon; son, Richard Allen Lewis and wife Lisa of Rolla; two grandchildren; brothers, Robert Lewis and wife Dawn of Springfield, Ill. and James M. Lewis and wife Robin of Auburn, Ill.; and sisters, Kathy Richardson and husband John of Springfield, Ill. and Kimberly Richardson and husband Tim of Moweaqua, Ill.
Visitation will be held from 10 until 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 10, with funeral Mass following, all in the Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Brinktown, with Rev. Basil Tigga and Deacon Michael Brooks officiating. Full military honors will follow.
