Phyllis McGrath, 74, Belle, passed away on April 23, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer.
She was born in 1951, to Shelby and Virginia Doyel in St. Louis.
While she grew up in St. Louis, the family would often visit the family farm in Maries County, where many of the Doyel relatives lived. Phyllis returned to Maries County for good around 10 years ago.
She was preceded in death by parents, Shelby and Virginia; and former husband, Norman McGrath.
Phyllis is survived by children, James Muschamp and wife Julia of Wright City and Kelly McGrath and husband Michael Malahy of Oklahoma City, Okla.; beloved grandchildren, Kerstie, Britney and Samantha Bramlet, Heather, Robert and Alexander Muschamp, Lilith DeRennaux and Laurel McGrath-Malahy.
A funny, complex and deeply caring woman, she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, June 13, in Kenner Cemetery.
Phyllis was a lifelong lover of animals and often took in strays. Memorial contributions suggested to the Rolla Animal Shelter in her honor.
