BELLE — Students from the Maries R-2 School District presented their winter concert Dec. 11 in the Belle High School gym, featuring performances by the beginning band, middle school choir, 7th and 8th grade band and high school band.
The program opened with the beginning band performing “Rolling Along,” “Hot Cross Buns,” and “Jingle Bells,” all from the Essential Elements series. Beginning band students included flutes Alli Seymour; trumpets Ryker Bialczyk, Angela Bolin, Jimmy Hearst and Grace McKee; clarinets Damien Borth, Kimber Hollandsworth, Chelsea Ray and Grayson Tyler; trombones Archer Borges, Chase Brandt, and Teddy Withouse; baritone Mason McKinlay; and percussion Jase Gamroth, Brysen Piatt and Wyatt Skaggs.
The middle school choir followed with performances of “Jingle Bells” by James Pierpont, “Christmastime” arranged by Lloyd Larson, and “12 Days of Christmas,” arranged by Dan Fox. Choir members included Sofia Barnes, Chase Brandt, Riylee Burkett, Owen Frenzel, Harlie Gingerich, Amber Haynes, Lilly Jones, Hudson Krieg, Ryles Limberg, Kaycee Lockard, Brogan Maxwell, Georgia McKee, Mason McKinlay, Aubrey Spaunhorst and Kennedy Stockton.
The 7th and 8th grade band then performed “Elves that Rock” by Carol Brittin Chambers, “Silent Night,” arranged by John McAllister, and “Toboggan Run” by Matt Conaway, featuring Treyton Huebner.
Seventh and eighth grade band members included flutes Gabrielle Edwards, Owen Frenzel, Desyn Goodman, Winter Hatfield and Kaydence Thomas; clarinets *Grant Holtmeyer and *Alaura Tuttle; bass clarinet *Natalie Douglas; percussion Ciris Burrows, *Treyton Huebner, Weston Sadler and Raiden Wisdom; trumpets *Spurling Hendrix and *Ryder Huebner; saxophones Karley Lennaman; and tuba Hunter Boyer.
The concert concluded with performances by the high school band, which presented “Angels We Have Heard on High,” arranged by Kamerling, “A Christmas Canon,” arranged by Michael Green, and “You’re a Mean One, Mister Grinch,” arranged by Story.
High school band members included flutes Maryssa Anderson and Roegan Porter; clarinets Connor LeRoux, Harley Talbott and Connor Weigel; bass clarinet Hailey Piatt; trumpets Weston Doss and Tristan Sadler; baritone and trombone Coltin Hazelwood and Noah James; tuba Cason Taylor; alto saxophone Zayne Lee; percussion Tristyn Anderson, Temperance Bray, Noah Hugel and Harper Reid; and bass Ryan Wisdom.
The concert was directed by Maries R-2 instrumental music teacher Grace Cooke.
*These students are members of the Central District Missouri Music Educators Association Honor Band (CDMMEA).
