BELLE — Maries County R-2 student-athletes capped another successful school year by earning state championships, conference titles and numerous all-conference and all-district honors across multiple sports, according to the annual activities report presented June 30 to the Board of Education.

The district’s most notable achievement came in track and field, where Aubrey Rehmert captured her second consecutive Class 2 state championship in the girls javelin, becoming the first athlete in school history to win back-to-back state titles in the event.

Rehmert also earned first-team all-state recognition in softball after helping lead the Lady Tigers to a 21-7 record, a district championship and a third-place finish in the Four Rivers Conference.

The boys basketball team finished 24-6 overall and advanced to the district championship game after winning the Four Rivers Conference title with an undefeated 8-0 conference record. The Tigers also captured the Hermann Tournament championship during the season.

Several players received postseason honors. Hayden Struemph was named first-team all-conference, while Clayton Pryor earned second-team recognition. Struemph and Pryor were both selected to the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Class 3 All-District Team, with Struemph also receiving all-state honors.

Belle’s baseball team posted a 13-8 record and finished second in the Four Rivers Conference before advancing to the district championship game. Ethan Kopp and Jaxon Voss earned first-team all-conference honors, while Cole Carson was named second team.

The softball team enjoyed one of its strongest seasons in recent years, finishing 21-7 overall while winning a district championship. Along with Rehmert’s all-state recognition, Kyleigh Kempker earned second-team all-state honors. Both players were named first-team all-conference, while Olivia Mitchell received second-team all-conference recognition.

The boys golf team also celebrated a successful season. The Tigers finished fourth at the district tournament and qualified two golfers for the state tournament. Wyatt Kopp earned first-team all-conference honors after placing fifth at the conference tournament, while Dylan Keilholz received second-team all-conference recognition.

Belle’s track and field program produced multiple postseason honors beyond Rehmert’s state championship.

On the girls side, Kylie Hake earned first-team all-conference recognition in the shot put after winning the conference championship and qualifying for the state meet. Rehmert also won conference titles in the javelin and shot put while qualifying for state in both events.

For the boys, Clayton Pryor earned first-team all-conference honors in the discus after winning the conference championship and qualifying for the state meet. Aidan Bales received first-team all-conference recognition in the javelin after placing second at conference and advancing to state.

District officials also highlighted academic success among student-athletes, noting that numerous teams and individuals earned conference, district and state recognition while competing throughout the school year.
