Earlier this month, numerous cross country runners from Belle and Vienna competed during the Show-Me State Games (SMSG) on the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia.
Overall, nine harriers from Belle and Vienna left Columbia with medals via top-three finishes in their respective age divisions.
Among 2K runners, four of the five Maries County runners competing earned medals led by Vienna’s Paxten Jeremy with a winning time of 7:03 in the 15-16 male division.
Claiming silver medals in their respective 2K divisions were Walker Jeremy with a time of 9:43 in the 13-14 male division, Harper Ridenhour in a time of 12:15 in the 11-12 female division and Emerson Jeremy with a time of 9:28 in the 13-14 female division.
Addilynn Eads also placed fourth in the 6-11 female division with a time of 13:37.
In the 5K races, a total of 10 Belle area runners competed in seven different age divisions.
Competing in the 0-10 female division, the Belle trio of Amanda Moore (1st, 25:53), Ariel Moore (2nd, 28:42) and Ella Langston (4th, 36:02) claimed three of the top four spots in their age group.
Emberlynn Miller snagged the final medal in the 11-12 female 5K division with a third-place time of 37:43.
Skylar Stevens (6th, 31:44) and Cora Langston (7th, 34:16) placed in the top seven of the 13-14 female division in Columbia.
Belle High School alumnus Alex Moore topped the 30-34 female age group with a winning time of 24:01.
Jackson Prater ran his last race before becoming a high school runner this fall placing third in the 13-14 male division with a time of 18:51.
Two more BHS alumni ran in the 19-29 male and 40-49 male divisions respectively.
Adrien Hoehne placed fifth among 19-29 males with a time of 25:46 while Garrett Langston placed ninth among 40-49 males.
