In spite of their respective seasons ending in the district semifinals, Jeff Schultz’s Belle Tigers and Biance Stocks’ Belle Lady Tigers were well represented on the Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) All-Conference basketball teams which were voted on last Wednesday.
Making up nearly half of the All-GVC Boys Basketball Team, the Tigers were led by GVC Co-Most Valuable Player (MVP) Hank Stratman along with fellow Belle High School ballers Garrett Gehlert, Hank Willis and Kooper Elrod.
Finishing 16-12 in her first season as Lady Tiger head basketball coach, Stocks saw three of her Lady Tiger basketball players earn All-GVC honors.
Senior Anastyn Lansford was named the GVC MVP for the second consecutive season while senior Aubrey Rehmert and freshman Natalie Lansford also represented Belle on the 10-player All-GVC Basketball Team.
Named Co-MVP of the GVC along with Steelville senior Malakai Bruno, Stratman led the Tigers averaging 16.2 points per game while also second on the team recording 4.2 assists and 2.1 steals per contest.
He also pulled down six rebounds per game good for third on the team behind Elrod (7.0) and Willis (8.1).
Reaching double digits in the scoring column in all but two games during his senior season, Stratman dropped a season-high 30 points during Belle’s 77-57 victory over Chamois’ Pirates in the Belle Boys Basketball Tournament held in late January.
Grabbing 10 rebounds each against New Haven and Sullivan during the first four games of the season, Stratman also turned in double-digit points total during those games giving him his two lone double doubles of the season.
Scoring 22 points against the Shamrocks during a 62-54 victory on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, Stratman also added 16 points to his 10 rebounds during a 68-50 home victory over Sullivan’s Eagles.
Coming close to two more double doubles throughout his senior season, Stratman also dished out a season-high nine assists in two games against Chamois and Crocker during the month of January.
Defensively, Stratman recorded four steals in four games during the first half of the season against Vienna, Sullivan, New Bloomfield and Chamois.
Leading the team dishing out 5.3 assists per game, Gehlert reached double figures in the assist department during four games.
In addition to posting a season-high 15 assists in games against Linn and Crocker, Gehlert also had 11 assists against Bourbon in early February and 10 assists against Missouri Military Academy (MMA).
Averaging 14.4 points per game good for second place in the scoring department behind Stratman, Gehlert reached double figures in all but five games for the Tigers.
Gehlert’s season high in the scoring column came against Tipton’s Cardinals in the third-place game of the Legends Bank Holiday Classic in Linn with 24 points during Belle’s 54-38 victory.
Grabbing five rebounds per game, Gehlert’s season high on the glass came against St. Clair’s Bulldogs in the championship game of the Belle Boys Basketball Tournament with 10 rebounds.
He made it one of his four double doubles on the season scoring 14 points during Belle’s 63-43 victory over the Bulldogs.
His other three double doubles came against Crocker with 18 points and 15 assists, Bourbon with 19 points and 11 assists in addition to 15 points and 10 assists with MMA.
Good for a team-leading 3.5 steals per game, Gehlert’s best defensive effort came against Crocker giving him nine steals which was nearly good for a triple double.
Nearly averaging a double double for the season, Willis averaged 12 points and 8.1 rebounds per contest.
Leading the team on the glass, his point total was good for third on the team behind Gehlert and Stratman.
Scoring at least 10 points in 16 game during his junior season, Willis posted a season-high 29 points during Belle’s 83-29 victory over Chamois in early January.
Reaching double figures on the boards in 10 games, Willis’ season best in the rebounding department came against New Bloomfield in early January with 17 rebounds.
Throughout the season, Willis posted seven double doubles in a Tiger uniform with his first coming against Newburg in early December with 10 points and 14 rebounds.
His next one came during their 73-40 victory at New Bloomfield with 18 points and 17 rebounds.
Facing Chamois against during the Belle Tournament, Willis collected his third double double ending up with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Two days later in the Belle Tournament title game against St. Clair, Willis recorded his second double double in three nights putting up 20 points and 10 rebounds against the Bulldogs.
Early February saw Willis put up back-to-back double doubles with 14 points and 10 rebounds against both the Rolla Royals and MMA Colonels on consecutive nights.
Willis’ final double double of his junior season came on the road in a 61-51 victory over Fatima with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
In the assist column, Willis dished out a season-high three assists in action against New Bloomfield and Crocker.
Three was also the number for Willis in steals in games against Vienna and Bourbon while also blocking three shots against New Bloomfield.
Rounding out Belle’s quartet of All-GVC boys basketball players was Elrod who averaged 12 points and seven rebounds per game.
Reaching double digits in the scoring column during 10 games, Elrod posted a season-high 26 points against New Haven’s Shamrocks during opening-round action at the Hermann Invitational Boys Basketball Tournament.
Posting double-digit rebounds in four games, Elrod grabbed a season-best 16 boards against the Rolla Royals while also pulling down 13 rebounds in action against Vienna and Newburg.
Also posting 11 rebounds in a 68-66 victory over eventual district champion Dixon during the regular season, Elrod also reached double digits in points during the same four games he grabbed at least 10 rebounds.
His first double double of the season came against Vienna with 24 points and 13 rebounds while also posting 12 points and 11 boards against Dixon.
Elrod’s next double double came during pool play at the Belle Boys Basketball Tournament with 23 points and 13 rebounds during an 89-71 win over Newburg.
Kooper’s final double double of the season came against the Rolla Royals with 12 points and 16 rebounds.
Elrod also posted a season-high six assists against the Wolves.
Defensively, Elrod record two steals in action against Fatima, Bourbon, New Haven, St. Clair and Linn while blocking a season-high three shots against Hermann.
Joining the Tiger quartet on the All-GVC basketball team were Cuba junior Braden Gipson, Steelville senior Jackson Woods, Cuba senior Cameron Carnal, Steelville senior Hunter Starbeck, Bourbon sophomore Dawson King and Steelville senior Nate Gambill.
Released Monday morning by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association (MBCA), Stratman, Willis and Gehlert were among the 10 players selected to the MBCA Class 3, District 8 All-District Boys Basketball Team.
Joining Belle’s trio on the list were Dixon senior John Creamer, Dixon junior MJ Ford, Dixon senior Drew Young, Fatima senior Blake Kliethermes, Fatima senior Xavier Stuecken, Laquey senior Rhyder Martin and Bruno.
Dixon’s Logan Ray was the named the district coach of the year while Kliethermes was selected the district player of the year.
Schultz’s Tigers finished 23-5 marking their first 20-win season in two decades.
Leading the Lady Tigers averaging 19.7 points and three steals per game, Anastyn Lansford capped an outstanding BHS Girls Basketball career being named the GVC’s MVP for the second consecutive season.
Reaching double figures in 26 of 28 games played during her senior season, she scored a season-high 37 points against the host Lady Tigers during the semifinals of the Stoutland Lady Tiger Classic along Interstate 44.
She also broke the 30-point plateau in her other two tournament games at Stoutland with 34 points in the opening round against Conway’s Lady Bears and 35 points in the third-place game against Newburg.
Good for 4.4 rebounds per game, Anastyn’s season-high on the glass came against Macks Creek’s Lady Pirates when she grabbed nine rebounds during a 58-16 victory for the Lady Tigers.
Second on the team averaging 1.9 assists per game, she dished out a season-best seven assists during an 89-26 victory over New Bloomfield.
Also in that New Bloomfield contest, Lansford posted a season-high nine steals.
Of her seven blocked shots on the season, she had two of them during a 74-42 loss to Iberia in the Russellville Girls Basketball Tournament.
Rehmert was second on the team in scoring averaging 8.3 points per game while also leading the Lady Tigers with seven rebounds per contest.
Posting double-digit point totals in eight games, Rehmert posted a season-high 17 points in action against New Bloomfield and Bourbon.
Helping the Lady Tigers claim third place from Stoutland during a 66-43 victory, Rehmert posted her first of two double doubles for the season finishing with 17 points and a season-high 17 rebounds.
Her second double double of the season came during a 58-34 win over South Callaway in their regular-season finale in which Rehmert posted 16 points and 11 rebounds.
In the assist department, Rehmert dished out four assists four times in games against Tuscumbia, New Bloomfield, Newburg and Iberia.
Adding a season-high six steals to her 17 points at New Bloomfield, Rehmert also blocked two shots in their 54-41 victory over Steelville opening the 2026 portion of their season.
Rounding out the Lady Tiger trio of All-GVC honorees was freshman Natalie Lansford.
Averaging 7.6 points per game, Natalie led the Lady Tigers averaging 4.1 assists per game.
Reaching double figures in nine games, the younger Lansford posted a season-high 19 points against South Callaway while also scoring 17 points against Bourbon.
Grabbing 4.6 rebounds per game, Natalie pulled down a season-best nine boards during their second win of the season over Newburg by a score of 45-10 near the midway point of February.
Lansford also dished out a season-high eight assists against Iberia while also recording seven assists in three games against Tuscumbia, Osage and Macks Creek.
Defensively, Lansford saved her best for last recording a season-high seven steals in the first round of the MSHSAA Class 3, District 7 Girls Basketball Tournament against Bourbon.
Joining the Lady Tiger trio earning All-GVC honors were Cuba junior Jaylen Haffer, Steelville junior Emeri Perkins, Cuba junior Leah Schmidt, Steelville junior Jazmyn Hurd, Bourbon senior Kaitlyn King, Cuba junior Mya Garbo and Bourbon sophomore Kenzii Withorn
Released Monday morning by the MBCA, Anastyn Lansford was also named the MBCA Class 3, District 7 Player of the Year in voting by coaches from Belle, Dixon, Fatima, Laquey, Steelville and Bourbon.
Joining Lansford on the MBCA Class 3, District 7 Girls All-District Basketball Team were Dixon freshman Inez Ballard, Dixon freshman Aaliyah Ford, Dixon sophomore Jordyn Young, Fatima senior Adalyn Berhorst, Fatima senior Alex Berhorst, Laquey senior Trinity Harvey, Laquey senior Kaylen Jones, Hurd and Perkins.
Dixon Lady Bulldog head coach Sidney (Scott) Ballard was named the MBCA Class 3, District 7 Girls Coach of the Year.
