Biance Stocks Belle Lady Tiger basketball team entered last week’s Eugene Tournament looking to build on their season-opening win over Tuscumbia prior to Thanksgiving.
Falling 69-43 in first-round action last Tuesday night against Osage’s Lady Indians, Belle then suffered a 45-32 setback against the host Eugene Lady Eagles before ending the week on a winning note Friday night with a 56-16 victory over Macks Creek in Friday night’s 7th place game.
Leading 25-11 at halftime, Belle put the game out of reach outscoring the Lady Pirates 31-5 in the second half behind 18 points, nine rebounds and four steals from Anastyn Lansford.
Ava Feeler also added 12 points and two assists while Natalie Lansford made it a trio of double-digit Lady Tigers recording 10 points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists.
Saige Garner and Aubrey Rehmert each added nine points rounding out the Lady Tiger scoring against Macks Creek.
Just missing a double double, Rehmert pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds.
In the consolation semifinals against Eugene, Belle trailed 22-15 at halftime but could not overcome an 18-6 third-quarter run by the Lady Eagles that eventually sent them to the 7th place game.
Anastyn Lansford showed the way with 15 points, four rebounds and two steals.
Garner chipped in six points, six rebounds and three steals while Natalie Lansford added five points, five rebounds and three assists.
Rehmert and Feeler each threw in three points capping the Lady Tiger scoring against Eugene.
Opening-round action against Osage saw Belle fall behind 44-23 at halftime before dropping a 69-43 decision to the Lady Indians in spite of a game-high 25 points from Anastyn Lansford. She also added four rebounds and four steals to her point total.
Rehmert threw in six points, four rebounds and three steals while Natalie Lansford tossed in four points, eight rebounds and seven assists.
Makenna Lange and Feeler both scored three points while Garner rounded out Belle’s scoring against Osage with two points.
