Ending the 2025 portion of their season at 4-3 following a victory in their Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) opener the week before Christmas over Bourbon, Biance Stocks’ Belle Lady Tiger basketball team will be seeing double during the first few days of 2026.
Opening the 2026 portion of their season Friday night on the road, Stocks’ Lady Tigers will head into Crawford County’s county seat to take on Steelville’s Lady Cardinals in road GVC action.
Those two teams could meet again next week in the semifinals of the 2026 Battle in Bourbon Girls Basketball Tournament if the seeds hold true.
Belle earned the second seed in Bourbon and will face the host Lady Warhawks in first-round action on Monday, Jan. 5 at 5:30 p.m., along Interstate 44.
A Belle victory and a Steelville triumph over Newburg in first-round action would create the second meeting in six days between the Lady Tigers and Cardinals on Thursday, Jan. 8 in tournament semifinal action at 8:30 p.m.
Falling 44-40 against Dixon’s Lady Bulldogs in a Highway 28 home showdown earlier this month, Stock’s Lady Tigers could get a shot at revenge as long as them and Dixon hold serve on their respective halves of the bracket.
Through seven games, senior Anastyn Lansford leads the Lady Tigers in scoring with 21.1 points per game and steals with 4.4 of those per contest.
Netting double digits in the scoring column during all seven games, Lansford’s season-high thus far has come against New Bloomfield with a 29-point effort.
New Bloomfield was Lansford’s best game thus far adding seven assists and nine steals to her 29 points.
Grabbing five rebounds per game, Lansford’s best game on the glass so far has come against Macks Creek from action at the Eugene Tournament with nine boards.
Throwing in 8.9 points per game, senior Ava Feeler’s best game thus far also came against the Lady Wildcats at New Bloomfield with 17 points. She also grabbed nine rebounds against Bourbon to go along with four assists and three steals at New Bloomfield.
Feeler has also returned as a threat to shoot the ball from 3-point land.
She made this evident nailing five 3-pointers during a season-opening 71-29 victory over Tuscumbia’s Lady Lions on the Tuesday prior to Thanksgiving Day.
Saige Garner is also averaging 8.5 points per game with her season high coming at New Bloomfield in the form of an 18-point effort.
Queen of the boards with 6.8 rebounds a game, Garner’s best night with Windex came at New Bloomfield with 13 boards.
Senior Aubrey Rehmert is Belle’s third player averaging at least eight points per game and her season-high also came at New Bloomfield with 17 points.
Second on the Lady Tigers with 6.1 rebounds per game, her season-high also came at the Eugene Tournament against Macks Creek with 10 boards.
Freshman Natalie Lansford throws in 7.7 points per game but also leads the Lady Tigers with 4.9 assists per game.
Showing unselfish play handling the basketball, Lansford has dished out seven assists in four games so far this season against Osage, Tuscumbia, Bourbon and New Bloomfield.
Belle will be tournament tested by the end of January as they will see additional action throughout the month at Stoutland (Jan. 12-16) and (Jan. 26-31) in Russellville.
