Falling last Monday on the road at Hermann, Evin Farris’ Belle Lady Tigers hoped a little home cooking would get them back in the win column hosting Bourbon’s Lady Warhawks and Russellville’s Lady Indians on their home court at Belle High School.

Opening Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) basketball action last Tuesday against Bourbon, Belle scored the first 12 points of the game before going on to a 54-17 victory over the Lady Warhawks.

All eight Lady Tigers in uniform scored for Belle led by Anastyn Lansford with 15 points, eight steals, four rebounds and two assists.

Saige Garner just missed a double double ending up with nine points and seven rebounds.

Nevaeh Kinsey added eight points, three steals, two rebounds and two assists.

Natalie Gehlert chipped in six points to go with seven steals, three rebounds and an assist.

Ava Feeler and Victoria Busch each added five points.

Busch added seven rebounds, four steals and two assists to her five points.

Dekota Butcher kicked in four points and six rebounds while Miranda Sanders rounded out the Lady Tiger scoring against Bourbon with two points and four rebounds.

Alyvia Helm led Bourbon with five points while Marisa Enke and Avery Sutton each pulled down a game-high eight rebounds for the Lady Warhawks.

Friday night against Russellville’s Lady Indians, Belle trailed 9-5 after one quarter before taking a 20-19 halftime lead behind 10 second-quarter points from Lansford.

Outscoring the Lady Indians 28-22 in the second half, Belle ended the week with a pair of wins following a 48-41 victory over Russellville.

Doing her best Michael Jordan impersonation, Lansford led all scorers with 23 points while Kinsey also reached double digits scoring 13 of her 15 points in the second half.

Farris’ Lady Tigers will close the 2023 portion of their season tomorrow (Thursday) night on the road in a Highway 28 hardwood showdown against Dixon’s Lady Bulldogs with a 5:30 p.m., tip time.
