Lady Tiger volleyball trio earns All-GVC honors

In spite of their season ending at the hands of Bourbon’s Lady Warhawks during first-round action of the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Class 2, District 6 Volleyball Tournament, Kaci Jones’ Belle Lady Tigers had three players earn postseason honors from the Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC).

Making up nearly a third of the All-GVC volleyball team was the Belle Lady Tiger trio of Lydia Jones, Saige Garner and Chloe Jones.

Lydia Jones led the Lady Tigers with 77 aces, 231 kills and 17 blocks.

Reaching double digits in aces during two matches, Jones served a season-high 11 aces against Chamois and also recorded 10 aces against St. James.

Posting at least 11 kills in 11 of the 25 matches she played in, Jones posted a season-best 19 kills in early October against Bourbon.

She also had 17 kills against Viburnum in late September to go along with 16 kills against Calvary Lutheran in mid-October.

Following a 14-kill effort against Cuba, Jones had 13 kills in matches against Steelville and Bourbon twice.

Along with a pair of 12-kill efforts against New Haven and Chamois, Jones’ last double-digit outing in kills came with 11 against Dixon.

Second on the team in digs with 181 behind Saige Garner’s 205, Jones had eight matches where she reach double digits in digs with a season-high of 18 against Steelville.

Lydia also recorded 15 digs against Viburnum and 14 in matches against Viburnum and Cuba.

Posting 11 digs against Bourbon, Cuba and Steelville, Jones also had 10 digs in the regular-season finale at Plato.

Lydia’s sister Chloe Jones was second on the team with 57 aces and 140 kills while also third on the team in digs with 160.

After a pair of nine-ace efforts against Chamois and New Haven, Chloe had five aces against Bourbon in early October.

Among her 140 kills, Jones reached double digits twice in matches against Steelville with 12 and Bourbon with 11.

Six matches saw Chloe reach double digits in digs led by 14 digs against Cuba.

She also had 12 digs against Bourbon followed closely by 11 in matches against Viburnum, Cuba and Steelville.

Garner served up 38 aces on the season with her most coming against Chamois early in the season with five.

She also served four aces in the district opener against Bourbon.

Of her team-leading 252 assists, Garner reached double digits in 11 matches led by 20 assists against Viburnum.

Along with 19 assists against Viburnum, Garner also dished out 18 dimes against Plato and Calvary Lutheran.

Those were followed by a 17-assist night against Bourbon and 16-assist efforts against Cuba and Steelville.
