Karen S. Lange, 86, Belle, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Stonebridge of Owensville.
She was born on Feb. 6, 1940, to the late Merle and Edith (McGonigle) Hawkins.
She was united in marriage to James “Jim” Lange in June of 1962. From this union, four children were born.
Karen attended the Koenig Country Church and was a member of the Eastern Star.
She had been employed at Curtmans Grocery in Belle when she was younger and went on to work at Kingsford Charcoal for over 20 years. Karen later worked at Maces Supermarket for a time.
She enjoyed sewing, baking, doing crosswords, riding four-wheelers on the farm, and hunting for rocks. Above all, Karen loved spending time with her family. She will be missed greatly by those that knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by husband, Jim; parents, Merle and Edith; brothers, John and Charles Hawkins; sister, Marlene Smith; and brothers-in-law, John Smith and Leon Lange.
Karen is survived by children, Chris Lange and wife Dawn, Jeanette Lansford and husband Darrell, Steve Lange and wife Susan and Jim Lange, all of Belle; grandchildren, Dylan Lange, Casey Stockton, Nathan Lansford, Drew Lansford, Jordan Lange, Jesse Lange, Talton Lange and Sydney Skiles; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Michael and husband Bruce of Owensville and Mary Lou Hinton and husband Sonny of Virginia; sisters-in law, Jo Roach, Mary Jane Hawkins and Judy Lange; as well as many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from from 10 until 11 a.m., (today) Wednesday, June 24, at Koenig Country Church. Graveside services will follow in the church cemetery.
