Posting a 47-15 victory over the host Warhawks last Wednesday night during first-round action at the Bourbon JV Boys Basketball Tournament at Bourbon High School.
Holding off Vienna 56-51 in the championship semifinals Saturday, Belle advanced to the championship game later that day against Salem’s Tigers.
Unable to overcome a 50-26 halftime deficit, Belle’s JV Tigers settled for second place following a 79-44 loss to Salem’s JV Tigers.
Cooper Guinn led Belle netting 10 of his team-high 14 points in the first half while David Skaggs hit three 3-point shots to finish with nine points.
Lathan Miller and Tucker Harris both added eight points for Belle against Salem while Easton Schroeder capped Belle’s scoring against Salem with two points.
Nursing a 22-20 halftime lead against Vienna in championship semifinal action, Belle’s JV Tigers trailed the Eagles 40-37 after three quarters before staging a fourth-quarter comeback to post a 56-51 victory behind 18 points from Guinn.
Skaggs also reached double figures scoring 13 of his 16 points in the second half.
Miller nearly made it a trio of Belle JV Tigers in double figures finishing with nine points.
Harris scored all seven of his points in the first quarter while Fredendall rounded out the Tiger scoring against Vienna with six points.
During their 47-15 first-round victory over Bourbon, Skaggs led the JV Tigers with 12 points followed by Harris with eight points.
Miller and Fredendall each added seven points to go along with four points from Cody Hamm.
Adding three points each were Brayden Barzee and Schroeder in addition to two points from Ahart.
Gibson rounded out Belle’s scoring against Bourbon with one point on a fourth-quarter free throw.
