Joyce Jean Johnston, 84, of St. James, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023, at the Rolla Health and Rehab Nursing Center in Rolla.
She was born March 12, 1939, to George and Marie (Schaub) Kaufmann in St. Louis.
She was united in marriage to Jack Johnston, Sept. 12, 1959.
Joyce was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in St. James.
She was preceded in death by parents, George and Marie; husband, Jack; brother, Donald Kaufmann; sister-in-law, Donna Kaufmann; and brother-in-law, Ed Yonkus.
She is survived by children, Chris Johnston and wife Jeri of Hillsboro, Kelly Cooper of Denton, Texas, and Paul Johnston and wife Kelly of St. James; sister, Joan Marie Yonkus of Scottsdale, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 24, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in St. James, with Reverend David Peter officiating. Memorials suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
