Jeremy Spurling, 49, Columbia, formerly Belle, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at home.
He was born June 12, 1976, to Kenneth and Carmen Trevino Spurling in Rolla.
He was united in marriage to Marlene Machens on June 5,1999, in Portage.
Jeremy graduated high school valedictorian and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri Columbia.
His career path was with the correctional system and working with troubled youth and adults.
Jeremy is survived by wife, Marlene of Columbia; son, Eli Spurling of Winfield; daughter, Leah Koenig and husband Sam of Fayette; mother, Carmen Spurling of Springfield; step-mother, Kathy Spurling of Vichy; brother, Jason Spurling and wife Melissa of West Plains; sisters, Jeanne Trimmer and husband J.W. of Mound City, Lisa Spurling of Ozark, Angie Spurling Shanks and husband Jarett of Belle and Emily Buckley and husband Richard of Billings.
Graveside services were held Saturday, May 16, at the High Gate Baptist Church Cemetery in St. James, with Gary Lane officiating.
Memorial contributions suggested to Jeremy’s grandson, Elmer Koenig for an education fund.
