James Wilbert Jones, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at the age of 82.
He was born on April 16, 1944 in Rolla to the late Sidney Wilbert Jones and Alice Stogsdill-Thomas. On Jan. 14, 1966, he was united in marriage to Delpha (Butler) Jones. She preceded him in death.
He is survived by sons, Eugene Jones and wife Connie, Shawn Jones and wife Angie; and daughter Catrina (Jones) Struemph and husband Kirt. They all reside in Belle; sisters Debbie Peters, Faye Lawson and her husband Ricky, Glenda Valley and her husband Big Daddy Bo; brother Dave Jones and wife April; ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Jim was a professional jack of all trades. He could do anything from roofing to construction and everything in between. His biggest trade was being a practical jokester.
He loved traditional archery, hunting, fishing, artistic painting, cinnamon candy, Sundrop, reading scripture, and talking about scripture. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ on Saturday, May 9. The doors will open at 10 a.m., and the service will start at 12 p.m. There will be a meal after.
