George Stanley Kishmar, 86, passed away on Sept. 6, 2026.
He was born on Oct. 9, 1939, to the late George (Krcmar) Kishmar and Edna (Plaster) Kishmar in Hartsburg.
After graduating from Chamois High School in 1957, he joined the Army for a four-year enlistment.
George was united in marriage in 1961 to Mary Lou (Stieferman), daughter of Norbert J. Stieferman and Marie (Carter) Stieferman of Chamois.
Following his graduation from Mizzou around 1964, he took a position with Boeing as an electrical engineer in Seattle, Wash. Throughout his 29-year successful career, he was instrumental in the development and installation of the electrical systems for the Boeing 727 through the 767 jetliner series.
During the last few years of his career, he was selected to train and advise engineers of foreign corporations regarding the airplanes’ electrical systems. This position afforded him the opportunity to travel abroad to many wonderful places. He said his favorite was Israel, where he was able to float in the Dead Sea. George truly loved the aerospace industry.
He spent his childhood in Chamois, growing up along the banks of the Missouri River next to the city park.
George enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping wild game. There is a nautical marker located at his childhood home named after his father, George (Krcmar) Kishmar.
George, Mary and their two daughters enjoyed the outdoor activities of the Pacific Northwest. He took his family fishing, hunting, boating, hiking and on many other adventures while living in the Seattle area.
In 1997, they returned to Chamois, where they lived out the remainder of their days peacefully and happily.
George was preceded in death by wife, Mary; parents, George and Edna; and sisters, Mary (Kishmar) Callais and Ruth (Kishmar) Hartsock.
He is survived by daughters, Shari (Kishmar) Statler and husband Glenn and Cindy (Kishmar) Chavez-Diaz and husband Jesus; granddaughters, Dolana and Vanessa Statler and Samantha Negron; and great-grandson, Samuel Morrissey.
George was a gentle and loving husband and father. We honor him and were blessed to have had him as our dad. He will be greatly missed.
