BLAND — Straggler ballot numbers from Gasconade County resident voters in the Maries R-2 School District in the April 6 election included the following precinct.

Redbird precinct had six ballots cast for candidates in the Maries County R-2 School District’s election as six of 110 registered voters went to the precinct for a 5.45-percent turnout.

Overall, across three Gasconade County precincts which had voting in the Maries R-2 election, 34 ballots were cast. Receiving votes in this election from voters in Gasconade County were Aaron Vandegriff (22), Kenda Sanders (20), and Ralicia Tyler (13).

In the Bland precinct at Zion Christian Church, the reported number of ballots cast for the three candidates for three open Aldermen at-large seats changed when votes were certified. Aldermen at-large received the following number of votes out of 23 total ballots cast: Mark Farran received 20 votes; Diana Mayfield received 18 votes; and Ned Steiner received 20 votes. On Tuesday night, The Maries County Advocate reported information from County Clerk, which is not yet certified, that each Aldermen at-large candidate received 18 votes a piece. Official numbers were received later.

The total ballots cast at the precinct was 23 of 180 registered voters for a 12.78 percent voter turnout. The discrepancy between the number of ballots cast and the number of votes per alderman is the result of three to five voters under voting for declared aldermen.
