Charles Edward Hayes, 77, passed away Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, in Springfield.
He was born Jan. 6, 1943 to Jess Edward and Evelyn Virginia (Brumble) Hayes, in Rolla.
Charles was employed with the U.S. Geological Survey in Rolla. In 1988, he opened Charles E. Hayes Rare Coins in Springfield and continued dealing coins and offering appraisal services after retiring his business in 2019. He also worked as a jeweler for many years.
He was preceded in death by parents, Jess and Evelyn; and wife, Joyce (Schooler) Hayes.
He is survived by daughter, Lisa (Hayes) Phillips and husband Terry of Springfield; step-children, Amy York and husband Chris of Tulsa, Okla., and Chris Jella of Belle; and two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
