Carlos Richard Terrill, 72, of Bland, Mo., passed away Monday, March 23, 2026, at his residence.
He was born March 24, 1953, in Rolla to Richard “Howdy” and Shirley (Blackwell) Terrill.
On July 18, 1975, Carlos was united in marriage to Peggy Reed at High Gate Baptist Church, and together they built a life centered on family, faith, and community.
Carlos had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature. Above all, he cherished his family, who meant more to him than anything else. He dedicated many years to serving his community and county through various roles in law enforcement, retiring in 2007 as Chief of Police for the Gerald Police Department, and leaving behind a legacy of service, leadership, and commitment.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Terrill, and his sister, Frances Hamner.
Carlos is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Terrill, of the home; his mother, Shirley Terrill, of Bland; his children, Carla Price and husband Jesse of Owensville, and Travis Terrill and wife Nichole of Jefferson City; his brothers, John Terrill of Ash Grove, and Tim Terrill and wife Pam of Bland; his brother-in-law, Robert Hamner Sr., of Searcy, Ark.; and his grandchildren, Lance Price and wife Tori, and Luke Terrill.
Carlos was cremated, and a private family service will be held at a later date.
