Buddy Lee May, 80, Dixon, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Osage Rehabilitation Center in Osage Beach.
He was born on Jan. 2, 1946, in the state of Illinois.
He was united in marriage to Kathy Lane Thompson on May 6, 1996, in St. Robert.
Buddy served his country in the U. S. Army.
He worked for the Missouri Department Corrections as a guard in Jefferson City.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Donna Thompson.
He is survived by wife, Kathy of Dixon; sons, Samuel “Clay”, Chad, Toby, Shawn and Michael May; daughter, Danielle May; sister, Bobbie Schmidt; numerous grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on May 4, in the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel in Dixon, with Pastor Ryan Anderson of Sheppard Baptist Church in Dixon, officiating.
Interment with full Military Honors will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, May 7, in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, Ill.
