BELLE — Construction on Belle’s water main replacement project began May 11 and is expected to continue through June 1, weather permitting.
According to an announcement made by city officials, the project will replace outdated water mains with a new system intended to improve service reliability for the community. Replacement work will take place between First Street and Third Street.
Parking will be prohibited along Alvarado Avenue daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning May 11 through June 1, to help facilitate construction. Vehicles parked within the restricted area during those hours will be towed at the owner’s expense.
Although an exact time for water service interruptions has not yet been scheduled, the announcement said any necessary shutdowns are expected to occur during the early morning hours to help minimize disruptions for residents and businesses.
The city noted that service interruptions are expected to be minimal throughout the project.
Residents with questions or concerns about the project may call (573) 859-3513 to reach Belle City Hall.
