BELLE — Donald Ray Hall of Belle was charged with the class B felony of sexual exploitation of a minor late last Tuesday night (Dec. 23) following a report received by the Maries County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).

According to the probable cause statement, MCSO responded to an address in the 20900 block of Maries Road 315 in Belle around 11 p.m. on allegations that a man had provided his 14-year-old step-daughter with alcohol and set up a phone to record her in the shower.

The statement alleged Hall provided alcohol to the child on the way home from Springfield, played a few games of beer pong once home and then told her she could go take a shower after she went to her room. The child reportedly stated that while in the shower, she saw Hall’s phone hid behind shampoo bottles recording and that at first she fearfully deleted the video and then retrieved it before hiding in the basement and contacting her older sister who contacted law enforcement.

The officer reported being provided footage of Hall setting up his phone behind shampoo bottles filming the shower area and that the juvenile stated they did not feel safe with Hall in the home. It was also noted that Hall apologized to the child while entering the rear of the patrol vehicle.

Hall was arrested and taken into custody at the Maries County Jail.

A case review hearing was scheduled for Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. with Judge Kerry G. Rowden presiding in Maries County Associate Court.
