Belle Elementary School students shouted their cheer as they took to the streets on Sept. 5, proclaiming their return to class. “Uptown, downtown, all around our town! Belle Elementary, Num-ber ONE!” was bellowed at the top of their lungs while parents, grandparents and family waved and took pictures from the sidewalk. Jeana Walters (above in white shirt), second grade paraprofessional, led her group in the cheer as they left campus grounds. In addition to families, various community educators were also present, including MOCA Head Start students who lined up across from the Elementary School and Doodlebugs Learning Center’s little learners lit up at the sight of older siblings. An estimated 260 students and teachers were present.
