Annetta “Ann” Marie (Doyle) Mobley, 88, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Heisinger Bluffs.

She was born May 30, 1935, to Ernie and Sylvia (Robertson) Doyle in Vienna.

She was united in marriage to Jerry Mobley, June 18, 1954, in Jennings.

Ann attended Fairview Elementary and High School in Jennings, Cedarville College in Cedarville, Ohio, and Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Tenn. She also took business courses at Broward Community College in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Ann and her husband served together in Christian ministry most of their years together. They served approximately 12 years with the Salvation Army in Chattanooga Tenn., and Miami Fla.

After the untimely death of her husband, Ann served on staff for the First Baptist Church of Pompano Beach, Fla., first as office manager and subsequently as church business administrator for a period of 17 years.

Upon her retirement in 2000, Ann moved to Jefferson City, Mo. to help care for her elderly mother. Ann continued to remain active in Christian ministry at Concord Baptist Church, she also served on the school board of Royal Oaks Christian Academy in Jefferson City. In addition to her various other activities Ann authored and published a book in 2012 entitled “If I Tell You I’m Gay, Will You Still Love Me”, the story of Ann’s journey to maintaining a loving and understanding relationship with her adult son Dan upon his informing her that he was gay, while maintaining her strong Christian beliefs and moral values. Ann was subsequently interviewed about the book and her life experiences on Focus on the Family radio program and the national Christian Television Network, in addition to a local Christian TV program.

She was preceded in death by parents, Ernie and Sylvia; baby daughter, Rebecca; husband, Jerry; son, Nathan (Nat); brothers, William Doyle and Eddie Doyle; and sister-in-law, Diane Doyle.

Ann is survived by son, Dan of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; brothers, James Doyle (Barbara) and John Doyle (Elaine); and sister-in-law, Pamela Doyle.

A memorial service was held Monday, June 19, at Concord Baptist Church with the Reverend Monte Shinkle officiating. Inurnment was held privately at the Vienna City Cemetery.
