Alma Louise Rains, 81, Vienna, departed this life and entered into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
She was born Aug. 21, 1944, to the late Lester and Winnifred (Martin) Terry.
She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age while attending the Terry Baptist Church.
During Alma’s working life she was employed at Langenberger Hat Company, Quaker Window, and retired from Maries Manor after 32 years. She often said she wished she was still able to work. Although her job was in housekeeping and laundry, she was very active with the residents. Alma spent countless hours putting together Christian puzzles with them and having them displayed in the hallways for everyone to enjoy.
Every time her granddaughter from Indiana came for a visit she would arrange for her to sing and play piano while serving cake or pie. Alma considered the residents as her family, always wanting to do for them.
She was preceded in death by parents, Lester and Winnifred.
Alma is survived by children Steven Rains of Vienna and Gina Jones and husband Dan of Cambridge City, Ind.; grandchildren, Caleb Holman and wife Haylee of Kokomo, Ind., Emily Jones of Cambridge City, Ind. and Mitchell Jones and wife Kaylin of Richmond, Ind.; and great-grandchildren, Braiden, Aubree, Titus, Liam and Joelle.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements entrusted to Rolla Cremation and Memorial in Rolla.
