The Maries County R-2 schools held their 60th annual May Day celebration Friday evening in the high school gym. Students from kindergarten sang a special rendition from the movie Greece about their kindergarten experience, fourth graders wound the May Pole, and the junior Ryleigh Long was crowned queen. Past May day queens where recognized.
Editors note: Last week’s Advocate incorrectly identified the 1963 May Day Queen. The correct name is Phylis Lore.
