Viola “Vi” M. Green, 75, Bland, passed away July 29, 2024, at Stonebridge of Owensville.   

She was born June 26, 1949, a daughter to the late Everett and Clara (Mitchell) Jarvis in Jefferson City. 

She was a lifelong area resident and a 1967 graduate of Bland High School. Vi was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Sullivan. 

She had been employed as a waitress at Siegfried Fine Foods in Owensville for over 15 years when it was open. Vi also worked with Mercedes Benz in St. Louis as a secretary.

Her hobbies included doing needle point, going to car shows, gardening, and planting flowers. Her faith in God was strong and she read her bible frequently. Vi was a great cook known for her fried chicken and desserts and one would never leave her house hungry. She loved getting together with the whole family and having big meals. Family was very important, and her best times were spent with them and especially her grandkids. Vi was kind and giving and always took time out for others. She will be missed greatly by her family and those that knew and loved her.   

Vi was preceded in death by parents, Everett and Clara; brothers, Marvin Jarvis, Melvin Jarvis and Marion Jarvis; and sister, Velma Blackwell.

She is survived by sons, Edward Schuenemeyer and significant other Mitsi Campbell of Sullivan, Scott Schuenemeyer and Jeff Schuenemeyer and wife April, all of Owensville; grandchildren, Dakoda Schuenemeyer, Colton Schuenemeyer and wife Angie and Caden Schuenemeyer; great-grandchildren, Desmond, Mateo, and Niko; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 10, at Sassmann’s Chapel in Bland followed by the funeral services with Shane Jarvis officiating. Interment will be in the Francis Cemetery near Belle.
