Viola Marie Dudenhoeffer, 85, of Jefferson City, formerly of Freeburg, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Stonebridge Villa Marie, Jefferson City.

She was born Oct. 14, 1937,  to Bernard and Marie (Steinman) Redel in Argyle.

She was united in marriage to Raymond Casper Dudenhoeffer, June 18, 1955, in Argyle.

Viola was a lifelong member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and a member of the Paul A. Hasenbeck Memorial American Legion Auxiliary Post 317, both in Freeburg. 

She had been employed by the Overman Pants Factory, Quaker Window Products Company, as a screen roller, the Department of Revenue, in the records department, Mr. Jack’s, as a part-time waitress, and Holy Family Catholic School, as a cook.

She was preceded in death by parents, Bernard and Marie; husband,  Raymond; son, Daniel Ray Dudenhoeffer; siblings, Ann Ruckman, Bernita “Blacky” Lock, Oscar Redel, Vick Redel, Vince Redel and Janie Davis.

She is survived by daughter, Dina Libbert and husband Loyd of Freeburg; daughter-in-law, Starla Dudenhoeffer of Vienna; six grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 12, from 10–11 a.m., in Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg, with a Mass of Christian burial following at 11 a.m. in the church with the Rev. William D. Debo as the celebrant. Interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery, Freeburg.
