An Eighth Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) softball title.

That is one of several goals for Chandler Harker’s Vienna Lady Eagle softball team entering the upcoming 2022 fall softball season.

Competing over the weekend in jamboree softball action at Richland High School, Vienna took on the host Bears and Stoutland’s Tigers.

Opening Saturday-morning softball action against Stoutland, Vienna posted a 12-0 shutout against the purple and yellow foes.

Closing the jamboree out against the host Lady Bears, Harker’s Lady Eagles left Pulaski County without allowing a single run following a 5-0 blanking of Richland.

Friday night, Vienna will open their regular season on the road in Stoutland against the Lady Tigers with a scheduled 5 p.m., first pitch.

Seniors looking to help the Lady Eagles add more championship hardware to an already crowded trophy case include Madeleine Novak, Abrea Simmons, Riley Rosentreter, Kiera Hollis, Andrea Novak, Nora Garro and Terra Huffman.

With Simmons doing the pitching and Huffman handling catching duties, Harker will be helped by an all-senior battery.

Juniors rounding out the list of upperclassmen for the Lady Eagles include Jaelee Stricklan, Katherine Soto, Kara Bastion, Aliyah Griffin, Kayla Hertzing, Cara Petershagen and Eva Hollis.

Sophomores leading the underclassmen will include Ava Kloeppel, Madison Weeks, Aubrey Reeves, Salene George, Adelynn James, Marissa Hollis and Jaedyn Schell.

Freshmen getting their first taste of high school softball will include Julianna Davis, Charlotte Kilmer and Aubrey Schwartze.

Harker will be assisted by Jessica Colliver and Jason Kampeter.

After opening their season Friday on the road, Vienna will mark their home debut three days later on Monday, Aug. 29 hosting Linn’s Lady Wildcats at Vienna City Park also scheduled for a 5 p.m., first pitch.

Tournament action in the regular season will see the Lady Eagles host their annual home tournament on Saturday, Sept. 10 before venturing into Gasconade County the following Saturday to participate in the Owensville Tournament.

In between the two tournaments, Vienna will begin their quest for an eighth consecutive GVC Softball Championship with a road trip to Cuba on Tuesday, Sept. 13 to face the Lady Wildcats.

Vienna will also have home games throughout the fall against Jefferson City (9/8), Newburg (9/16), Cuba (9/19), Jamestown (9/21), St. Elizabeth (10/4) and Richland (10/7)
