Vienna Eagle Pride Band competes at two festivals

Posted

Vienna High School’s Eagle Pride Marching Band has had a busy fall as the band recently completed in two music/marching band festivals. Band Director Ray Spiller reported the Eagle Pride Band took second place at the annual Sullivan Marching Festival held at the end of September.  “It was a good day for a band that really lost its marching season the year before,” Spiller said. He added that although the outcome at Sullivan was not what  the band members were looking for, there was a lot learned to help improve for the Washington Marching Festival the following weekend.

The band improved its scores at The Washington Festival, receiving second place. The flag team earned Outstanding Auxiliary award in their class. The band also managed to outscore the 3A class, which included great bands such as Cuba and Fatima.
