The Vienna area took the lead this week with the highest number of positive Covid-19 cases in Maries County. Last week Belle had the highest number. County-wide, the numbers continue to rise exponentially. Total cases in the county as of Oct. 19 were 169 with 28 active and 141 released from isolation, according to the chart published by the Phelps-Maries Health Department.
Vienna topped the list this week with a total of 57 cases of the virus. Of that number 20 were positive cases. There were four cases that had required hospitalization.
The Belle area had the second highest number with 46 cases but only two currently active. Two persons had required hospitalization.
The Vichy area was next with 25 cases and two active.
The Dixon area had 21 cases and one active case.
In the St. James area nine cases were reported with two active and one hospitalization.
The Argyle/Meta area had nine total cases with one active.
In the Brinktown area there have been two cases of the virus but none currently active.
In Maries County ages of persons who have had the virus range from three-years-old to 86-years-old.
