Vichy man charged in child molestation case

A Vichy man is charged with two counts of child molestation and one count of statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy of two of his biological children.

Timothy Mark Tumbrink, 66, was arrested on Feb. 9 by the Maries County Sheriff’s Department following a Dec. 22, 2021, investigation into allegations of sexual abuse of two minor children. Maries Couty Sheriff Chris Heitman commented on the case.

“This incident was investigated by Detective Dale Harp and Investigator Kilmer with the State Technical Assistance Team,” Heitman said. “Detectives found sufficient probable cause that Tumbrink had molested two minor children for several years.”

Incidents with both children occurred at Tumbrink’s residence in the 15000 block of Highway A between the years 2018 and 2022, according to the probable cause statement.

Tumbrink posted a $10,000 bail on Feb. 10 and attended a bond hearing on Feb. 22 and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on March 22 in Maries County Court.

“Cases like these are very difficult to investigate,” Heitman said. “Acts perpetrated against children are some of the most horrific. I have to commend the detectives for the hard work they put into this investigation.”

According to the probable cause statement, Tumbrink is being charged with two counts of child molestation in the third degree for a child less than 14-years-old, a class C felony and statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy, deviate sexual intercourse for a person less than 12-years-old, an unclassified felony.
