In a span of four days last week, the classic line from The Wizard of Oz played itself out on baseball diamonds in Belle and Vienna.
Bryce Gehlert’s Belle Tigers opened their fall season with a 14-4 win over Richland’s Bears Friday night while Cory Nicholson’s Vienna Eagles started their fall campaign Monday night with a 9-3 victory over Tuscumbia’s Lions in western Maries County.
Kaiden Robertson led Belle with three hits, three runs scored and three RBIs including a two-run home run in the first inning.
Landon Kloeppel paced the Vienna offense with three hits, two RBIs and a run scored.
Gavin Schwartze’s two hits and four RBIs helped the JV Eagles defeat Tuscumbia 10-4.
