Fresh off their first win of the season at Laquey the Friday prior to Labor Day, Chris Feeler’s Belle fall baseball Tigers looked to even their record at 2-2 on the season with a win over St. Elizabeth’s Hornets last Tuesday at Tiger Field.

Trailing 2-1 after one inning, Belle could not muster any more offense while St. Elizabeth scored twice in the fifth and seventh innings before falling 6-1 to the visiting Hornets.

Falling behind 2-0 going to the bottom of the first inning, Belle laced up their walking shoes.

Blake Henry led off with a walk before a one-out walk to Clayton Shockley advanced Henry to second base.

A passed ball then advanced Henry and Shockley up a base before the Tigers got on the board.

Carter Kinkead grounded out to second base allowing Henry to score cutting the Hornet lead to 2-1 after one inning.

From there, Belle did not have anymore base runners the rest of the game before being held to no hits by the Hornets.

After having only two games in seven days, Belle will have three games coming up over the next week.

After hosting New Bloomfield last night (Tuesday) at Tiger Field, Belle will host Bourbon’s Warhawks tomorrow (Thursday) at 5 p.m., before hitting the road to take on Licking’s Wildcats on Friday, Sept. 17 also with a 5 p.m., first pitch.

Belle’s fourth game in seven days will be next Tuesday, Sept. 21 also at home against Plato’s Eagles with a 5 p.m., first pitch.
