Thomas Dale Swinfard, 85, Rolla, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022 in Rolla.
He was born Nov. 17, 1936 to Thomas Melvin Swinfard and Virginia P. (Gabel) Swinfard in St. Louis.
He was united in marriage to Bessie (Brown) Swinfard, Sept. 5, 1959.
Dale was a member of Ridgeview Christian Church for 58 years where he served as teacher, Deacon, and Elder. In high school, Dale worked as a projectionist at Carney Theaters. He attended college at Missouri School of Mines for one year and went on to work at Bureau of Mines in 1956, where he for 37 years and retired as a certified professional photographer. He worked part time at Apple Tree Framing Department, until the store closed in 2000.
He was preceded in death by parents Thomas and Virginia; brother Larry Swinfard; and sister-in-law Lorraine Swinfard.
He is survived by wife Bessie Swinfard of Rolla; son Tim Swinfard and wife Kim Connor of Jefferson City; brother Dr. Ron Swinfard and wife Dr. Sara Viessman of Boulder, Colo.; sister Carolyn Hampel and husband Joe of Ballwin; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 29, from 12:30–2 p.m., with funeral services following at the Ridgeview Christian Church, Rolla. Interment will follow in the Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
