Summer School enrollment at Maries R-1 Elementary School is 141 students in grades K through 5. Elementary Principal Shanda Snodgrass said this is the highest summer school enrollment she’s ever seen.
She also reported on total summer school numbers. There are 30 students participating in middle school summer school, grades six, seven and eight. In the high school, summer school enrollment is 26 in-seat students taking drivers ed/computers. There are 23 students talking summer school online through Launch, for a total high school enrollment of 49.
The classes available for high school students using Launch include credit recovery, trigonometry, Spanish, health, personal finance, English 1, 2, 3 and 4, US history, government, college algebra, ACT prep, geometry, and algebra 1.
Total summer school enrollment is 220 students.
Snodgrass said prizes promoting local businesses are awarded every day, with a bigger weekly prize.
