JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Justin Brown, R-Rolla, today issued a statement relating to Senate Bill 1453 — designation of the “Dr. Dan Brown Memorial Highway” in Rolla — being signed into law by the governor July 11, 2024:
“Obviously this bill is very personal for me. My father was a pillar in our community, spending 45 years practicing veterinary medicine and building a business and legacy of care and service that continues today. He was also an icon in the state capitol, serving as both a state representative and senator.
I remain in awe and overcome with pride as I look back at his life and legacy, especially the care he had for his constituents and customers. It is an honor to follow in his footsteps; to emulate the kind of man and public servant my father was. When the job is tough or when our community faces challenges, I often find answers and motivation by simply asking: What would dad do?
This memorial roadway designation is just a small token of appreciation from his family, colleagues and fellow citizens for everything he did for us. I hope everyone who drives the “Dr. Dan Brown Memorial Highway” is encouraged to get involved, join together and make our community the best it can be.”assignments or sponsored legislation, please visit my official Missouri Senate website at senate.mo.gov/Bernskoetter.
