JEFFERSON CITY — Posting two wins in less than 24 hours, Kevin Schwartze’s Vienna Lady Eagles found themselves in the championship game Saturday night of the 11th Annual Calvary Lutheran Girls Basketball Tournament in Jefferson City opposite St. Elizabeth’s Lady Hornets.

Falling behind 32-14 at halftime, Vienna cut the deficit to 39-26 after three quarters before falling to the Lady Hornets 48-31.

Lone senior Kadence George led the Lady Eagles with 17 points and was nearly joined in double figures by Jaelee Stricklan who scored six of her eight points in the first half.

Aubrey Reeves added a third-quarter 3-pointer to go along with two points each from Jaedyn Schell and Madison Weeks rounding out the VHS scoring against St. Elizabeth.

Saturday morning semifinal action saw Vienna tame the host Lady Lions from Calvary Lutheran posting a 46-36 victory advancing them to the title game.

Scoring double digits in each half, Kadence George led all scorers with a game-high 22 points.

Weeks also reached double figures scoring nine of her 11 points in the fourth quarter.

Strickland scored all five of her points in the fourth quarter followed by Reeves with three points.

Schell and Marissa Hollis each added two points to go along with a second-quarter free throw from Salene George.

Opening the tournament Friday night with a 45-44 overtime victory over the St. Louis Blue Knights, Vienna was led by Kadence George duplicating her semifinal scoring effort with 22 points.

Weeks scored all eight of her points in the first half followed closely by Salene George with seven points.
