Robert Lealon Helton, Sr., 73, Vienna, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022, in the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Columbia.

He was born on Sept. 12, 1948, to Lonnie Richard and Mildred Pauline (Edwards) Helton in Dixon.

He was in the U. S. Army from 1968 and served until he was honorably discharged in 1970. Robert was member of Victory Hill Baptist Church, near Dixon. He had been Vacation Bible School director at his church for 20 years. He was self-employed as owner and operator of Helton Logging, Helton Trucking, and R. L. Helton Excavating, Weatherford, Texas, until his retirement.

Robert was proceeded in death by parents Lonnie and Mildred; and siblings Carlous Wheeler, Sue Zimmerman, and Nancy Johnson.

He is survived by children Robert Lealon Helton, Jr, of Blackwater, Rebecca Jo Haston and husband Alan of Keytesville, and Stephen Wayne Helton of Blackwater; step-children Garry Allen of Dixon, and Anthony Allen and Kimberly Allen both of San Antonio, Texas; brother Richard Helton and wife Carolyn, sisters Anna Marie Wooters all of Wright City, and Dorothy Robertson and husband George of Vienna; and sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; .

Funeral services were held Monday, May 9, 2022, at Victory Hill Baptist Church, Dixon, with pastor Rev. Dennis Nichols, and brother Richard Helton officiating. Interment with full military honors was in the Freedom Cemetery, near Dixon.

Memorials suggested to Victory Hill Baptist Church or Freedom Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
