Roberds takes vacant Vienna city clerk position

Posted

Carrie Roberds of Meta, has been selected as the new Vienna City Clerk and is scheduled to begin working at City Hall on Wednesday, Oct. 14. She replaces Sherry James as clerk. James took a position as Office Manager at the new Hippos medical marijuana facility in Vienna. She will train Roberds as her replacement.

Roberds has experience in her new role as she was the city clerk in Meta. She comes to her new job in Vienna from a state job with DNR in Rolla.

Roberds said the Vienna job is closer to home and a pay increase. It will save her the 60-mile daily commute to and from Rolla. She said her passion is accounting and bookkeeping, but she is familiar with the process of water and sewer billing.

She is married to Tommie Roberds and they have three children, Kylee Roberds Wieberg and Tyler Roberds, both Vienna High School graduates, and Kenna, a fifth grader at Maries R-1.

She and Tommie are past members of the Maries County Fair Board.
