Richard Allen Howard, 87, Vienna, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, at Stonebridge Westphalia.
He was born Sept. 28, 1935, to the late George Allen and Gertrude (Duncan) Howard in Potosi.
Following graduation from high school, he served in the Missouri National Guard.
Richard was united in marriage to Marjorie Grelle in 1959 in St. Louis. She preceded him in death in 1982. He was later united in marriage to Renilda Mae Mantle May 26, 1984, in Jefferson City.
Richard was employed for many years as a draftsman for Central Electric. Following retirement, he and Renilda traveled throughout the United States. Richard also enjoyed spending time on the farm in Maries County.
He was preceded in death by first wife, Marjorie; parents, George and Gertrude; infant son, John; sister, Debbie Maxey; and brothers, Johnny, Jerry and Eddie Howard.
Richard is survived by wife, Renilda Howard; sons, Richard Howard and wife Gail and Kenneth Howard, all of Vienna, Joe Howard and wife Myrna of Texas and James Howard and wife Barb of Jefferson City; stepchildren, Jim Nielsen of Maryland; Steve Cook and wife Becky of St. Louis and Jennifer Lawton and husband Max of Hermann; eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Linda Smith and husband Howie, Judy Zensen and Ruth Shelton and husband Bob, all of St. Louis and Dennis Howard and wife Sharon of Lake St. Louis.
The family will hold a celebration of life at a future date.
