VIENNA — Two Bland Middle School track and field records went down Monday afternoon during the VMS Black and Gold Invitational Track Meet.

Sprinting her way to a fifth-place time of 14.04 in the girl’s 100-meter dash, BMS seventh-grade Aubrey Rehmert set a new school record beating the one of 14.07 previously held by Jessica Keller.

In addition to her fifth-place time in the 100m dash, Rehmert won the discus with a throw of 22.93m and placed second in the long jump with a leap of 3.79m.

Rehmert was not the only Bear athlete to set a new school mark.

Landon Finn cleared 1.52m in the boys pole vault at the Osage-Maries Challenge in Linn over a week ago.

Monday in Vienna, Finn cleared 1.67m to finish sixth in the event and break his own school record.

Braden Barzee also placed seventh in the boys discus with a throw of 20.49m.

Piper Marsee’s best finish Monday in Vienna was a fifth-place time of 1:17.97 in the 400-meter dash.

Cylee Reed also posted a ninth-place time of 21.75 in the 100-meter hurdles.
