Reflection on 2022 Vienna FFA Week

Posted

Hello everyone! First off, on behalf of the Vienna FFA Chapter, I want to say thank you so very much to each and every one of you for your support throughout this past week as we completed 2022 Vienna FFA Week. We appreciate everything you do for us as a chapter, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without your support.        On Sunday, FFA members wore their FFA jackets or their chapter t-shirts to church and took pictures with their pastors/priests. After the FFA members took pictures at church, they shared them with the chapter on the FFA Facebook page. What a better way to start a busy week than praising the Lord.

“Life without Christ is like a journey with no destination.”

On Monday, the spirit day theme was farm chore day. Students dressed up in their pajamas and boots, as they would do for early morning farm chores. The Vienna FFA officer team met up that morning to schedule and plan for the next chapter meeting. The Labor Auction/Scholarship Dinner was originally scheduled for that night, but was rescheduled to March 1 due to the basketball district Championship game.

On Tuesday, the spirit day theme was camo/farmer day. Students dressed up in camo or their favorite farmer attire. Tuesday was also Truck Day. High School students drove in their farm trucks for this event. Congratulations to Kobe Sohm for getting the award of the “Best of Show” farm truck. That night starting was the Labor Auction/Scholarship Dinner. This year we had Argyle Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn, rolls, and desserts. At 6:30 p.m. we began the Labor Auction. Thank you to all of our supporters who came out and bid/bought various items donated by FFA members, from desserts to gift baskets, as well as those who bought FFA members in the Labor Auction.

On Wednesday, the spirit day theme was America Day. Students decked out in their red, white, and blue. That day was also the FFA supporters Fish Fry in the Ag room. We served fried fish, potatoes, biscuits, baked beans, coleslaw, and a cookie. We hope you were able to come enjoy lunch with us to thank you for your support of the Vienna FFA Chapter.

On Thursday, the spirit day theme was Battle of the Brands. Students showed their support for their favorite agriculture brand or business, from world known brands to local family owned. High School students also drove in their tractors for Tractor Day. We had 17 tractors participate, and the Best of Show tractor was awarded to Elijah Crum.

Friday was the final day of FFA Week. The spirit day theme was National Blue and Corn Gold, so students wore their blue and gold to school in support of their FFA chapter. During 8th hour we had the FFA Assembly for grades 6th through 12th. We played games and had a special guest speaker, Missouri State Vice President Hannah Shanks. That afternoon we had our chapter meeting, and then directly after we left for Level Up in Columbia. Level Up has bowling, skating, mini golf, rope courses, and an arcade. It was a great night with friends and a wonderful way to end Vienna FFA Week.

Vienna FFA Supporters, thank you for your tremendous support throughout the years. A FFA chapter without a community is like a bird without wings, we won’t ever go far without our strong community support.
