In the midst of the COVID-19 public health crisis and the increased rates of violence that are having a devastating impact on our community, the Perseverance Foundation is here to help.
If you, or someone you know, is experiencing domestic or sexual violence, you are not alone and there is support available to you. Please reach out to the Perseverance Foundation and we will listen, help plan for safety and connect you with valuable community resources.
All of our services are free and confidential.
Asking for help is not an easy thing to do. The Perseverance Foundation provides nonjudgmental support and understands the complex circumstances that surround experiences of violence. While physical abuse is often the most visible form of domestic violence, it can also include verbal, emotional, spiritual and financial abuse.
We are guided by the fact that violence is never a victim’s fault and no one should ever be blamed for what has happened to them. No matter how difficult the situation is, we are here for you. Do not hesitate to contact us. We can also arrange private locations to meet with you for your safety and privacy needs.

We will have office hours on Monday from 12 to 2 p.m. and Thursdays 3 to 6 p.m. The office is located at 601 A. Market Street. Go through library entrance, and the office is the door on the right.
If you would like to schedule a meeting in an alternate location or time please call to make those arrangements.
We also have “Coffee With the Ladies” open to all women on the second Thursday of the month at our Hermann office next to the library and every third Thursday in Owensville upstairs at Simply Sweet, both at 9:30 a.m.
We will be starting a coffee with the ladies in the evening every second Thursday of the month at the Hermann office at 6:30 p.m., starting Thursday, Jan. 14.
We want to give women ample opportunities to find support and encouragement in these difficult times.

(Editor’s note: The Perseverance Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit founded in 2017 by Barbara Haddox to give abused women the “hand up” she received after escaping her own long-term abusive relationship. The “Touch of Hope” purse project operates under the non-profit and has given out 2,744 purses filled with personal care items. All women are invited to the coffee events.
