Perry Sherman

Perry Lane Sherman, 67, Vichy, passed away June 9, 2022, at his residence. 

He was born Dec. 6, 1954, a son to William W. and Mareta (Tiede) Sherman in Jefferson City. They survive of their home in Vichy. 

He proudly served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam War and received the national defense and sharpshooter medals. 

Perry was united in marriage to his wife Cheryl, Sept. 11, 1982, in Millstadt, Ill., on Cheryl’s grandfathers farm. Cheryl survives of the home. 

He had been employed as a miner in Leadville, Colo., following his time in the service and was a sales manager at auto dealerships in many places before retiring after 40 plus years.

He was member of A.I. C.A. and the A.A.A. cattle associations. He enjoyed developing his cattle ranch and beef herd and conversing with people. 

Perry was preceded in death by brothers Roger and Curt Sherman; and sister Lisa Lewton.

He is survived by wife of 40 years, Cheryl;  parents William and Mareta; daughter Kate Penn and husband Sean; grandchildren Tyler and Claire; brothers David Sherman and wife Cheryl, Jim Sherman and Bill Sherman and wife Edna; sister Robin Stratman and husband Don; mother-in-law Laureen Beil; and brother-in-law Mark Beil; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.    

Expressions of sympathy may be made to your local 4-H or FFA chapter. 

Private family services will be held at later date.
