Norman David Satterfield Sr., 81, St. James, passed away Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021, at his home.
He was born March 11, 1940, to Russell and Zella Cowan Satterfield in Washington.
He was united in marriage to Natividad Satterfield on January 10, 1962, in the Philippines.
Norman was a career U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a funeral director for many years working beside his good friend, Jesse Gahr. He worked beside Jesse Gahr at the James & Gahr Mortuary for over 20 years.
Norman is preceded in death by parents Russell and Zella; wife Natividad; son Ricky Satterfield; brother Vernon Satterfield; and sister Ruth Walker.
He is survived by sons Norman Satterfield. Jr. of St. James and Mark Satterfield and wife Shana of Columbus, Ohio; daughter Deborah Paxson of Waynesville, Ohio; brother Ira Satterfield and wife Bonnie of St. James; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 14, from 6–8 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home, St. James. Funeral Services will be held Friday, Oct. 15, at 2 p.m. at the High Gate Baptist Church, St. James. Burial with full military honors will be at the High Gate Baptist Church Cemetery.
