Norma Jean Towell,75, Rolla, passed away Friday, Nov. 26, 2021, in Springfield.
She was born July 29, 1946, to Lloyd and Oma Marie James Moreland Phelps.
She worked at the hospital in Rolla for over 20 years, before that she was in housekeeping at the University.
Norma was proceeded in death by great-grandson Bentley.
She is survived by former husband David Ellis Towell; son David Allen Towell of Springfield, and daughter Lisa Towell Lilja and husband Rick of Eagle Lake, Texas; brother Vernon Eugene Phelps of Vida; sisters Donitta Kay Yowell of Rolla and Neoma Darlene Robinson and husband Tim of Rolla; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 2, from 10–11 a.m. at the Jones Funeral Home, St. James, with funeral services following. Burial will be in the Macedonia Baptist Church.
