The process has begun for Vienna to get a new communications tower.
Tillman Infrastructure plans to build a 345-foot Guyed Communications Tower on leased land west of Vienna in the vicinity of the 31200 Block of Highway 42 West. A Trileaf Corporation associate, Alisia Hassler, who is a geologist, said the area for tower placement is northwest of two cemeteries. The area is 100 feet by 100 feet. The Vienna Public Cemetery and the Visitation Cemetery are side by side just off of Highway 42, across the Highway from the Vienna MFA.
This is a communications tower for AT&T antennas. It is hoped it will improve cell phone service in the area.
It will be a Guyed Communications Tower, meaning there will be three wires supporting the tower which are anchored in the ground.
Hassler said they’ve had an architect look over the area and no concerns were found. The project is in a preliminary process and will take some time to complete, Hassler said.
