The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Jefferson City, Rev. Shawn McKnight, has appointed a new priest as administrator of The Holy Foursome. The Holy Foursome includes the parishes of Holy Guardian Angels in Brinktown, Visitation Church in Vienna, St. Aloysius Church in Argyle, and St. Boniface Chapel in Koeltztown.
These parishes have been without a designated priest since Fr. Matthew Flatley was re-assigned to the Hannibal Church in the summer of 2020.
The new administrator appointed by the Bishop is Reverend Basil Tigga. The appointment is effective Dec. 1, 2020. Tigga will be moved from associate pastor of St. Peter Parish in Jefferson City and Hospital Ministry, to administrator for the four churches in The Holy Foursome.
Tigga was ordained in 1992 and is originally from the Diocese of Gumla, India.
A Visitation parish member said Tigga has been having weekend masses in this area since July. He will be residing at the Visitation rectory in Vienna.
McKnight made the appointment on Nov. 19.
Fr. Chris Aubuchon was appointed to The Holy Foursome this year but has major health issues and is unable to serve the four parishes at this time. Two deacons, Parish Collaborator Deacon Michael Brooks and Deacon Stephen Schwartze have been working with the parishes in the interim.
